Tank Farm Liner
IMG completed the installation of approximately 215,000 sq. ft. of XR-5 liner material. The storage tank containment area was located in central Florida and will help protect against any potential and uneventful spills or overfills. The storage tank containment area is utilized for the secondary containment for approximately three (3) million gallons of diesel fuel stored in three (3) large above ground storage tanks. These tanks are filled utilizing pipeline operations.
The project came in as budgeted and supplied the plant with a more effective and safe liner system. Slip resistant surfaces were installed at three (3) entry points throughout the tank farm to ensure that personnel could access the area in a safe manner. In addition to these areas, ramps where installed using a recycled tire product that can withstand access by heavy equipment or vehicles. The access ramps were painted safety yellow to ensure safe access. The XR-5 material was chosen for its durability and fuel/chemical resistant abilities, it is Florida Department of Environmental Approved for secondary fuel containment.
